PROJECT DETAILS

Main Contractor – Mace

550 m2 Elastoflex Liquid Waterproofing System

McCormick Flat Roofing Limited undertook the Institute of Government for Pall Mall and

The Foreign Office, Whitehall last winter 2013 for Mace.  Mace were so impressed with McCormick’s work they invited us to tender for the British Embassy Roofing Works in Bamako West Africa.

The job consisted of scraping up and repairing the existing screed and applying new single ply membrane, McCormick surveyed the job and advised the client Mace to instead of using single ply, they should use the Elastoflex Liquid Applied System as it was a far better system for what was required.

McCormick undertook the work in August last year in 110 degree heat, it was so hot that every tin of Elastoflex had to be mixed with a tin of thinners as the base and top coat would go off in seconds!!!

The materials in terms of getting to the job had to go from Manchester to London to Tangiers then to Timbuctoo, then Bamako, it took 6 weeks in total.

The job was finished and signed off in 4 weeks, some 550 m2 including walkways.  Mace and the Government were so impressed McCormick’s have now tendered and won another 2 Contracts in Copenhagen and The Hague, again using Elastoflex.  The Copenhagen job starts mid-June!
